With a storm forecast at 4:20pm, Benjamin and Kiki had to make a call to either shorten their 4pm wedding ceremony, or change the location to an undercover option. They had put so much thought into the creation of their ceremony , that they decided not to miss any of it. The Riverlife staff quickly reset the undercover marquee, and the guests picked up their chairs from the lawn and carried them under the canopy. Not long after the ceremony commenced, the clouds opened and fat raindrops sploshed down. The couple and their guests were relieved to be safely dry under the awnings.
The ceremony started with the parents of the couple walking down the aisle, followed by Benjamin, his groomsmen, the bridesmaids, and then Kiki on the arm of her dad.
The couple smiled adoringly at each other, as I told the story of their meeting at a birthday party, and the story of their blossoming love. Next, Kiki’s bridesmaids shared some words about the couple, in both English and Mandarin. Benjamin’s sister read from the Bible, then the best man Lukas spoke about marriage and the joy it brings to a couple. Next, the groom’s grandfather joined him to play two hymns on the piano accordion and the guests sang along enthusiastically. The couple spoke beautiful vows to each other, sealing them with a kiss.
Just as the ceremony finished, the grey skies lifted and the guests were able to file out to the parklands for photos by the river.
Thanks for the review, Kiki! “ Absolutely best celebrant!!! Professional and kind, definitely make us feel less nervous on the big day. 100% recommended !!”
