Micro Wedding at Sherwood Arboretum

REAL WEDDINGS
Ceremony #71 2023
Micro Wedding at Sherwood Arboretum
Elasma and Cameron met at a speed dating event. Cam managed to insult El in the short space allotted to them to chat, however, he was able to turn it around in the break time, and the pair soon clicked. Some time later, as they dined at a restaurant, a fellow diner mentioned to El that she could see that Cam was totally in love with her just from the look on his face.
The couple contacted the team at Elope Brisbane to plan their micro wedding. They invited only immediate family members and chose the tranquil gardens at Sherwood Arboretum for their ceremony. They chose blues and purples for their colours.
El walked into the ceremony on the arm of her son to “Tennessee Whisky” by Chris Stapleton. She wore a slim fitting white pants suit which was absolutely stunning and showed off El’s commitment to fitness. El later told us that this was her Plan B outfit when she didn’t love her original online purchase. Cam was casual in a light blue t shirt and quirky blue suede shoes.

El and Cam wrote their own vows, which, like them, were a little quirky. El said, “ I can’t wait to find out what we will be when we grow up,” along with a couple of maths jokes. And Cam thanked El for her patience with his left of centre sense of humour.

The ceremony started to light raindrops falling, and luckily the Elope Brisbane team had clear plastic umbrellas handy for the couple and their guests. By the team the certificates were signed, rain was tumbling heavier, and we were thankful for the nearby gazebo for the post ceremony photo shoot.

They emailed, “Thank you for making this milestone of our lives really special and intimate. Our families felt included and are very grateful for that. We feel lucky you are the one who married us. Thank you.”

This was our last wedding for 2023, and was such a beautiful, intimate, and genuine memory. Each of our elopements has been unique and special, and really shows how 2023 couples had the assurance to make their day their own idea of perfection.

Pop Up Wedding at a Thornlands backyard

Pop Up Wedding at a Thornlands backyard

Sharlene and Adam decided to marry in the backyard of their parent’s home and entrusted the team at Pop Up Weddings Bayside to coordinate the wedding day of their dreams. Being December, the couple decided to hold their ceremony later on a Saturday afternoon to avoid the heat of the day.
Miss Weddings set up a circular arbour with foliage and flowers of orange, pink, and cream, which matched with the flowers in Sharlene’s bouquet and Adam’s bouttoniere, and the flowers atop the wedding cake. Maid of Honour, Robyn, wore a coral dress, which tied the colour palette together.
Sharlene wore a beautiful A Line lace off the shoulder dress with a mocha underlay. She wore a veil attached to her curled hair, with a pretty side hair clip, and coordinated her jewellery with a bracelet, drop necklace and earrings. Groom Adam wore a cream coloured suit, with a white shirt, black bow tie and black pocket square.
As the shade slipped onto the lawn area, guests took their seats, glad of the breeze from the bay. Adam walked down the aisle with his best man Nathan and his parents, to an instrumental version of Thinking out Loud. Then the guests held their breath as beautiful bride, Sharlene walked down the aisle, preceded by her Maid of Honour, and accompanied by both her mother and father, to an instrumental version of "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" from the Lion King.

After a short and sweet ceremony officiated by Cheryl Landsberry, the couple signed their marriage certificates and walked back down the aisle , hand in hand, to “Come and Get your Love” by Redbone, as their guests blew celebratory bubbles.
After some photos around the tended gardens with photographer Romana Saeheng, the wedding party and their guests enjoyed a catered outdoor reception on the back deck under the starry skies.
Sharlene and Adam are still on a high with such glowing memories of their wedding day. They wrote,” Thank you for all your efforts to make it a great wedding. Our family and friends told us lots of positive words about you and the ceremony.”

Wedding at Redland Bay Golf Club

Relaxed wedding at Redland Bay Golf Club
Frank and Fharida found their true soul mate in each other. They decided on a simple and relaxed wedding ceremony at Redland Bay Golf Club, and chose the colour palette purple and green.
To begin the ceremony, Frank and his four groomsmen walked into the ceremony space to “Listen to the Music” by the Doobie Brothers. Following her bridesmaids, Fharida walked down the aisle to “For You” by John Denver. Music and song are both very important to Frank and Fharida, and they took some time to consider their ceremony music choices. For their signing song, they chose, “Here comes the sun,” by the Beatles. Their recessional song was “Happy Together” by The Turtles. Included within the ceremony were some lyrics which the couple created for their musical duo, Fhareedom. https://www.youtube.com/@fhareedom1799
“Everyday seems so magical
When I spend it all with you
There could never be another moment
Than right now here with you.”
Frank and Fharida are both passionate about a healthy lifestyle. They enjoy preparing delicious and nutritious low carb meals at home, and even have their own YouTube following. They chose healthy options for their wedding meals, and splashed out on a little sugar for their wedding cake.
Thanks for contributing a five star review! “Cheryl is very accommodating when we asked her availability to be our marriage Celebrant. Frank and I were so delighted to the outcome of the wedding ceremony. I highly recommend Cheryl.”

Redland Bay Golf Club Wedding

REAL WEDDINGS

Kirsty and Stephan’s ceremony brief was for a relaxed, informal, low key, chilled ceremony.
With friends and family travelling from all over the world, they still wanted to commemorate their marriage with a special event, but didn’t want the fuss and drama that can accompany wedding planning.
Stephan and Kirsty chose the Bayview ceremony site at Redland Bay Golf Club for their ceremony. The hilltop looks over the golf course and out to Moreton Bay. Mel and Deb from Miss Weddings set up an arch with light pink florals, and set out white Americana chairs. The colour scheme for the wedding was sage green and dusty pink.

Kirsty walked in to the ceremony on the arm of her brother, Ben, to an acoustic version of the song, “Latch” by Sam Smith. The couple decided to forego having wedding attendants, instead, having their gorgeous pup, Cooper, deliver the wedding rings.

In keeping with the light atmosphere, a little humour was included in the ceremony, with celebrant Cheryl Landsberry telling the story of how the couple matched over their shared love of their pet cats.

Stephan started his vows with, “my vows are going to be short and direct, like you, Kirsty” which had the guests all chuckling. Kirsty was ready for his wit, and had prepared vows which included a promise to support Stephan, even if he continued with his proclivity towards buying impractical cars.

After walking out of the ceremony hand in hand to a shower of flower petals, the couple made their way around the golf course for a photo shoot. Afterwards, they joined their guests on the deck of the golf club for drinks, canapes, and a whole lot of celebrating.

Pop Up Wedding at The Lighthouse Restaurant, Cleveland

Pop Up Wedding at The Lighthouse Restaurant, Cleveland

Karlla and Isaac were hoping for sunshine on their wedding day, but when the skies turned grey, they were glad to have such a handy backup venue in the rotunda at the Lighthouse Restaurant at Cleveland.
The couple left all the organising in the hands of the team at Pop Up Weddings Bayside. Miss Weddings transformed the rotunda into a ceremony space, with white Americana chairs tied with pale pink bows. A white hexagon shaped arbour styled with greenery and pale pink flowers was set at the front of the ceremony space, framing the bay views.
Karlla was stunning in a white fitted lace dress, her hair and makeup were by Suzie from An Eye for Style. Grom Issac looked smart in a blue suit with silver tie and pale pink pocket sqare. The bridesmaids wore pale pink, and the groomsmen wore pale pink ties.

Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry led the ceremony, which she created with input from Karlla and Isaac. There were a few “in jokes” included, and the guests commented afterwards that the ceremony was so “them”.
Photographer Romana captured some ceremony shots while the guests were dry and under cover, then took the couple out into the park as the rain clouds lifted for some keepsake photos.
The guests blew bubbles as the newlyweds waled back down the aisle, hand in hand.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Smith

Celebrant folder

A lot of celebrants ask me where I source my folders. This A5 folder was custom made by https://www.instagram.com/hourihan_bookbinding/

Previously, I read the ceremony script from an A4 folder, but more recently, I've appreciated the ease of holding the smaller A5 size. There's a lot to juggle when officiating a ceremony - a microphone, a folder, and some gusty breezes. The A5 size fits neatly in one hand and is less unwieldy than an A4 folder. Plus, it's a neutral colour and matches with most colour schemes.

Elopement at Minnippi Parkland, Tingalpa

lopement at Minnippi Parkland, Tingalpa
Self-confessed flower child, C, imagined her wedding day as simple, genuine, Earthy, and authentic. She and her fiancé, D, chose the wetlands at Minnippi Parkland at Tingalpa for the green, natural landscape.
C added lace from the sleeves of her mother’s wedding dress to her bouquet, and wrapped the stems in a white lace handkerchief from her grandmother. She wore a simple white dress. Groom, D, wore a forest green linen shirt and chinos. Their adorable daughters wore linen dresses in ochre and sunflower, with matching headbands.
On their wedding day, the little family arrived at the parklands together, and met up with the team at Elope Brisbane. Celebrant Cheryl Landsberry read a personlised ceremony reflecting the couple’s love of family and nature. They added in a line from a wedding in Avatar and the couple each wrote their own sweet vows to read.
Photographer, Romana Saeheng, immortalised the moment with some beautiful family photos under the ancient trees in the park. The overcast day made for natural photos, and the green hues of the parklands provided varying natural settings.
After enjoying a home-baked wedding cake, the adorable family set out on a camping trip/honeymoon up the coast.
My day was topped off by receiving this appreciative text: "Thanks so much for everything!!! We had a perfect morning!"

Wedding at the Lighthouse, Cleveland Point

 Wedding at Cleveland Point Lighthouse

Baz first met Annette when she called for a tow truck. They agreed to meet up at a party that evening. Neither were looking for love, but there was just something that kept them coming back to each other. Before long, they couldn’t imagine life without the other, and started planning their wedding.
Baz left all the planning up to Annette, and was so proud of the beautiful event that she created. On their wedding day, he couldn’t believe all the elegant touches which Annette had organised.
Barry and his groomsmen opted for a casual look, wearing jeans, royal blue western style shirts, and black leather cowboy hats. Photographer, Romana, and I were surprised that this was our third wedding together in a week where the grooms wore jeans and cowboy hats, and Luke Combs featured in the ceremony music. Country style weddings are definitely making a comeback in Brisbane.

Annette looked lovely in a white one-shoulder lace dress.
The ceremony started with two of the biggest flower men you’ve seen tossing petals down the aisle. After the relaxed ceremony, Annette and Baz planned to party into the evening at The Lighthouse Restaurant and carry on afterwards at the local nightclubs.
The all Redlands wedding professionals included:
Ceremony location: Cleveland Point
Reception location: The Lighthouse
