Micro Wedding at North Stradbroke Island

Beach wedding at North Stradbroke Island

When Kris proposed at a scenic lookout at Maleny, he and Suzi started to dream about their ideal wedding. The couple decided on a beach wedding at North Stradbroke Island, and asked the team at Elope Stradbroke to curate a bespoke wedding experience for them.
Leading up to their wedding day, Suzi excitedly followed the socials of Elope Stradbroke, visually her wedding day coming to fruition.
On their wedding day, a sunny spring afternoon, dolphins were frolicking near the foreshore, and whales were spouting just further out to sea. The colours of the sky and ocean at Straddie are just spectacular, and you’d be forgiven for suspecting that the photos had a filter applied.
The team at Elope Stradbroke set up a hexagonal white wedding arbour, dressing it with white florals and green foliage. A jute rug was placed in the ceremony area, and white Americana chairs were laid out.
Kris arrived at the ceremony with his parents and sister, and pinned a white boutonniere to his dapper suit. He watched as Suzi walked towards him on the arm of her dad. Suzi wore a fitted satin off the shoulder white gown, with a long white veil pinned in her dark, wavy hair. She carried a bouquet of beautiful white flowers. Unfortunately, the breeze picked up Suzi’s veil and almost carried it off. With a laugh, Suzi decided to forgo the accessory - a funny memory from their wedding day.

The ringbearer for the ceremony was the couple’s mini Dachshund, Moose, who was adorable in a blue velvet harness, with matching lead and wedding ring case.

After the ceremony, the couple were showered with rose petals tossed up by their guests, which made for a spectacular photo. After cutting their wedding cake, the couple captured some panoramic photos at iconic Straddie locations.

Congratulations, Suzi and Kris. Thanks so much for trusting us to create your magical Straddie wedding.
