After eight years together, Arna and Brett's wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead was the culmination of much planning and dreaming. They fell in love with the wedding venue at Toowoomba, and could picture their ideal wedding day falling into place.
Toowoomba is a couple of degrees cooler than Brisbane, making Gabbinbar Homestead the location of choice for Governers of Queensland to spend their summers in days gone by.
The gardens are also beautifully manicured at Gabbinbar, and are fitted out with festoon lighting for evening soirees.
To top off the heritage buildings and cultured landscapes at Gabbinbar, the service of the professional staff is really top class.
We started the wedding celebrations of Arna and Brett with a rehearsal at the venue on the afternoon before the wedding. The wedding party and their families were buzzing around, arranging last minute details, so the rehearsal was the perfect time to pause and focus on the ceremony and visualise how it would all come together. The venue staff played the ceremony music through their PA system, and the bridesmaids were able to practice their walk in.
After the rehearsal, the couple, their attendants, and families had a few more items to tick off their lists before checking in to their BnBs and enjoying a dinner together.
I checked into my accommodation at https://www.toowoombacentralplaza.com.au/ before dinner at nearby Vapianos, and watching a wedding movie in my room. I did take a book to read - but ended up falling asleep by 9pm. 
The sun rose on the wedding morning to a cooler day, with a little cloud cover. This was most welcome with the recent run of hot days we had been having. I stopped into my favourite hairdresser at Toowoomba https://www.facebook.com/millenniumhairstudiotoowoomba where Gayle is a master at the classic French roll.
After a quick lunch, it was time to head to Gabbinbar, where Arna and her bridesmaids were getting ready in the bride's retreat.
Arna wore her hair in a simple pony tail, and walked down the aisle on the arm of her dad to, "Made for you" by Jake Owen. She wore a fitted white dress, with a lace bodice and silky skirt. Her three bridesmaids wore ivy coloured fitted dresses. Groom, Brett, was country casual in dark denim jeans, with a crisp white shirt. He wore an oat coloured jacket for the ceremony.
Neither Arna nor Brett wanted to be the centre of attention, so their ceremony was short and sweet, and left them with plenty of time to celebrate afterwards with their guests in the Gabbinbar Gardens.
