Deb and Andrew’s Intimate Wedding Celebration at the Grand View Hotel - A Relaxed Afternoon with Family and Friends

Couples are now focusing on what matters most when planning their wedding—good company, great atmosphere, and heartfelt moments.

Deb and Andrew’s wedding at the historic Grand View Hotel in Cleveland was the perfect example of this, as they celebrated their love with a relaxed, low-key affair surrounded by their nearest and dearest.

Set under the shade of leafy Frangipani trees in the hotel’s charming courtyard, the afternoon was all about connection and comfort. Close relatives and lifelong friends mingled on the cobblestones, laughter echoing across the old brick walls that have seen many a story over the years. There was no fuss, just genuine smiles, friendly banter, and a sense of ease.

With the breeze coming off the bay and the sun casting dappled light through the trees, the courtyard provided a perfect backdrop for candid photos and catching up with family. Deb and Andrew kept formalities to a minimum, grinning at each other under the floral arbour, as I told the story of how they initially met at uni all those years ago, rekindling their friendship recently when they happened to reconnect in the workplace.

As Sunday afternoon rolled into evening, the group lingered, sharing stories and soaking in the relaxed vibes. It was a day that reflected the couple’s values—authentic, down-to-earth, and centred on the people they love most. This was a celebration that will be remembered for its warmth and sincerity.

Congratulations, Deb and Andrew, on a beautiful beginning. Here’s to many more laid-back, love-filled days ahead!

Dan and Kimberley’s Wedding at Cherbon Waters -A Sunny Celebration of Family, Love and Music

On a golden afternoon at Cherbon Waters Wedding Gardens, a breeze drifted across the equestrian estate nestled beside the sparkling Leslie Harrison Dam. Friends and family gathered under the pergola, soaking up the excitement that comes with witnessing two hearts join together in such a beautiful setting.

The entrance song for the ceremony—an instrumental version of 'I Get to Love You'—was carefully rehearsed so that the three bridesmaids, Dan’s four daughters, and Kimberley’s two daughters could glide gracefully down the aisle, arriving just as the final notes of the song played. The 9 all wore different style dressed in hues of pink, champagne, and rose gold. Kimberley made a memorable entrance, arm-in-arm with her son. She wore a stunning dress composed of a lace bodice with a layered tulle skirt that caught the sunlight, glowing as brightly as her smile. The emotion swelled with the music as she walked towards Dan, who waited at the front of the ceremony deck in a sharp navy suit alongside his groomsmen.

The ceremony itself was a blend of sweetness and humour, with moments that had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure. The vows were heartfelt, and when the couple finally shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the crowd erupted in cheers and applause.

The festivities continued as Dan and Kimberley walked back up the aisle to a Chris Stapleton song—a nod to Dan’s unforgettable proposal at a Chris Stapleton concert. This musical touch sealed the sense of personal connection and celebration, leaving everyone with smiles and happy tears.

Reflecting on the day, it’s easy to see why weddings like Dan and Kimberley’s linger in the memory. The sun, the laughter, the music, and the genuine love between two families coming together made Cherbon Waters the perfect backdrop for a story that will be told again and again.

The couple wrote: "Thank you so much Cheryl .. you were truly wonderful and made the day perfect thank you."

Jaimee & Jason’s joyful wedding at Bullocky Rest, Joyner

Jason first noticed Jaimee when she started working at his local. He thought she was vibrant and interesting. Jaimee had noticed Jason’s beautiful smile. Sparks flew, and before anyone knew it, the pair were a couple, looking forward to spending their evenings off together. Before too long, they realised they had found their forever person, and decided to make it official with friends and family from near and far.

Their wedding day at Bullocky Rest, Joyner, was nothing short of magical. A timber arbour, dressed in white draping and florals, was placed between two towering gum trees, while rows of white Americana chairs adorned with ribbons and blooms awaited guests. As family and friends gathered beneath the April sun, they were pleased for the shade and the gentle breeze carrying across the dam.
Jaimee arrived in style, stepping out of a classic black Holden Premier.

Walking down the aisle on her mum’s arm, she looked amazing in a white strapless dress. Jaimee’s daughter and Jason’s daughter, both bridesmaids, looked elegant in mocha coloured dresses. Jason’s son and Jaimee’s son stood proudly as groomsmen in navy blue suits, each wearing a brooch with a photo of their grandfather as a special tribute. And Jason wore the biggest grin of all, counting down the minutes until his bride arrived.

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt moments and plenty of laughter. As Jaimee and Jason made their way back down the aisle to “I’m on my way” by the Proclaimers, the bubble machine erupted, sending a cascade of celebratory bubbles drifting across the crowd. Love, family, and cherished memories blended together, making it a wedding day that will be talked about for years to come.

Autumn Wedding at Cleveland Point

Autumn in Brisbane is a magical time of year, especially at Cleveland Point. The sun was shining, casting a warm glow across the park, and a gentle breeze sailed through the trees, providing perfect shade for an afternoon wedding. The setting was stunning, right by the sparkling bay, with a bamboo arbour dressed elegantly in white draping and florals, creating an enchanting focal point for the ceremony. At the centre, a round jute mat marked the spot where vows would be exchanged.

Rows of crisp white Americana chairs lined the aisle, awaiting guests who arrived early, buzzing with anticipation. On the front seat, a framed photo served as a heartfelt tribute to the bride’s late father, ensuring his presence was felt.

The ceremony began with flower girl Isabelle, shyly tossing petals in her pretty white dress. Next was bridesmaid Merlin, striking in emerald green, her dress shimmering softly in the sunlight. Then, with a beaming smile, Syalina made her entrance on the arm of her brother, Fiqra. He wore traditional Indonesian wedding attire, as did many of the guests—a beautiful nod to heritage and family. Syalina’s curled hair and flowing white veil completed her look, and her joy was evident for all to see.

Liam’s dad stood by his side as best man, a sign of the bond between the two. The wedding rings, carefully placed in a glass pyramid, were then passed to the parents of the bride and groom, who offered their blessings, making the exchange even more meaningful.

After the couple sealed their vows with a kiss, they walked out together to the classic tune “Forever” by Kiss, surrounded by cheers and laughter.

This autumn afternoon at Cleveland Point was a celebration of love, tradition, and family. With the sun shining, a gentle breeze, and every detail thoughtfully prepared, Syalina and Liam began their forever in the perfect setting.

After capturing photos with family and friends, the group celebrated with a reception dinner at the Lighthouse Restaurant over the road.

Renae & Doug’s Micro Wedding at The Lighthouse Restaurant, Cleveland A Heartfelt Union of Two Families

Against the backdrop of Moreton Bay, in the gazebo at The Lighthouse Restaurant, Cleveland, Renae and Doug celebrated their marriage with an intimate gathering that radiated warmth, joy and togetherness. Their union went beyond the joining of two hearts; it beautifully symbolised the merging of two families.

Renae, a proud mum to two young adults, and Doug, dad to four grown children, thoughtfully included each of their children in the ceremony. Cooper, Renae’s son, escorted his mum down the aisle, setting the tone for a celebration built on family connections. Madison, Renae’s daughter, and Naomi, Doug’s daughter, stood as witnesses, signing the official marriage certificates. Doug’s son Aiden had the honour of presenting the rings, while Lily, Doug’s daughter, read a beautiful poem. Lucas, Doug’s son, poured a shotglass of gin for each attendee, symbolising the blending of their families—a unique and memorable touch.

Renae looked absolutely radiant in a white, one-shouldered fitted gown, carrying a bouquet of elegant orchids. Her shoes were navy blue with a touch of sparkle. Doug complemented her perfectly, looking dapper in a beige linen three-piece suit teamed with a navy shirt, tie and pocket square—the ultimate in relaxed sophistication.

The celebration was capped off with a special gift: Vera Wang champagne flutes, perfect for their first toast as newlyweds. Raising a glass of Veuve Clicquot, Renae and Doug marked the beginning of their shared journey, surrounded by their immediate family.

The day was a testament to love, family and new beginnings—and a reminder that sometimes, the most meaningful weddings are those filled with the people who matter most.

After the ceremony and sunset photos by the Lighthouse, the group enjoyed a private dinner reception in the transformed gazebo at the Lighthouse Restaurant.

A Perfect Micro Wedding at the Lighthouse Restaurant, Cleveland Point - An Intimate Celebration by the Bay

When it comes to weddings, sometimes less truly is more. Yesterday’s couple opted for a micro wedding at the iconic Lighthouse Restaurant at Cleveland Point, choosing to share their special day with just their parents, and their adult children and partners. With a total of only ten guests, the celebration was intimate, heartfelt, and absolutely stunning.

The ceremony took place in the charming gazebo, transformed by Beautiful Illusions with a gorgeous white floral arbour. Timber chairs were adorned with elegant navy blue sashes, perfectly complementing the bay's tranquil blue waters just steps away. The setting was ideal for a small gathering, where every moment felt personal and meaningful.

After exchanging vows, the wedding party strolled to the adjacent Cleveland Point Recreation Reserve for golden hour wedding photos. The picturesque location, with its iconic lighthouse and sweeping bay views, provided the perfect backdrop for memorable family snapshots and candid moments between the newlyweds.

During the photography session, the attentive restaurant staff seamlessly reset the ceremony space for an intimate dinner reception. Tables and chairs were set out, creating a cosy dining setting where the couple and their loved ones could share toasts, laughter and a delicious meal together as the sun set over Moreton Bay. The curtained off gazebo provided privacy during a busy dinner service at the restaurant.

This micro wedding at the Lighthouse Restaurant embodied the joy of an intimate celebration: stunning views, thoughtful details, and cherished company. For couples seeking a meaningful, low-key way to say “I do”, Cleveland Point’s bayside charm and the restaurant’s exceptional service make it a perfect spot for a wedding that’s big on love, even with a small guest list.
